Message from the Founder- Richard Ferrell

My name is Richard Ferrell and I am the founder of InventiveSecurity.com. I am also an activist for Autism Awareness; avid camper and RV enthusiast; a business owner, and most importantly, I am a husband, a father, and a God fearing man. My staff and I are your source for Non-Lethal Protective Technology for your Home, Business, and Life on the Road. I felt it necessary to introduce myself and let you know why I do what I do and why I started InventiveSecurity.com.

I am a college graduate with a Bachelor of Science is Criminal Justice with a Specialty in Law Enforcement and Investigation. I have qualified as an expert marksman and I was training to compete professionally. I have a real love for firearms.

But, right out of college I received a job offer to work for a major retail giant and I could not pass on the opportunity. Soon after that I found the love of my life and we had three beautiful children, a girl and two boys. Unfortunately, both of my son’s are special needs children and they needed a lot more attention and time. The corporate world doesn’t understand that FAMILY COMES FIRST! I was given the choice to continue working 55 to 75 hours a week, missing holidays, birthdays and my child’s first steps, or I could try to find a different job. Find a job that would let me be a good husband and father. Find a job that would let me spend the time fighting for my kids against Autism and a medical system that doesn’t have any answers. Find a job that would be true to my family’s needs and security (both financial and their physical wellbeing).

My guns…I had to get them out of the house for obvious reasons. That job…well, I couldn’t find it. With the guns gone I constantly worried about how to protect my family but I was also relieved that my sons couldn’t do any harm to themselves or anyone else with them. I was struggling to make ends meet and doctor bills were piling up - I needed to make some sort of change for my family.

So one day, I was thinking about the need to provide for my family and protect them at the same time. The idea came to me, I needed a line of safe, non-lethal items that could protect my family without the fear of my children accidentally shooting themselves, not to mention, could be effective enough to protect my family against the bad guys. Those items...I FOUND THEM! I also found that I could sell these items at a price everyone could afford and I could help others with similar protection needs. And so, Inventive Security.com, “your source for Non-Lethal Protective Technology for Home, Business, and Life on the Road” was born.
